These drawings are so simple, yet so fantastically expressive!
I must agree with Mark! But I also had a very random compliment I really wanted to pay you.I recently saw Home on the Range for the very first time and the only thing that bugged me was how long I had taken to watch it. I have fallen under the same spell as many others that causes us to spout bull about the quality of "Disney" declining over the years. But if anything, Home on the Range showed me that has actually not been the case. There have been such wonderful projects that have not gotten their due because they are different - people forget that Disney has always been evolving. There will never be another Cinderella, there will never be another Little Mermaid - these were definitely defining films. But that should not take away from the fact that movies like Emperor's New Groove, Lilo & Stitch, and Home on the Range have such special things about them. The humor, the animation, and the development of Home on the Range (yes, I did watch behind the scenes!) prove that there is still something to be said about the creative and artistic integrity of those working in Disney.I mourn for the loss of hand-drawn animation and the way that movies like yours have been reviewed. I do not know if my little opinion will mean anything to you, but I wanted you to know that your film touched me and was immensely enjoyable. It was excellent work and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

I'm really glad these Syverson posts are so well received. One of the main things that made me want to do a blog was to share my favorite unsung inspirations with people who could appreciate them...Liz--thanks for the compliments on HOTR, I will pass them on to my colleagues...
